Details
The Bordeaux Haggadah is the first illuminated 19th century manuscript haggadah made in France. The Haggadah has a full French translation of the Hebrew text. The artistic elements and the composition of the Haggadah are in the great tradition of the Neo-classical Empire style of the Napoleonic era. The simplicity of the lines and clean architectonic elements of the illustrations are best noted in the tittle-page. This Haggadah Facsimile includes one large map of the Holy Land and a large map of the Holy City of Jerusalem, printed in 1813. The Bordeaux Haggadah is one of the antiques haggadot which is unknown to most of the Jewish people, and even after the first and unique facsimile edition from 1987, this Haggadah is consider very rare to the public and Haggadot collectors.
